Parked at cattlegrid to SE. Easily found in the cairn and stones removed to see the bolt. Back-filled with the stones, but left the large slab beside, not over the trig; should make it easier for future lone triggers to uncover the bolt without risk of hernia.

Bolt can be viewed without lifting the slab. I removed a smaller rock, and after removing minor debris could locate bolt by feel and photograph it

'Little White Bus' from Richmond then a steady walk up from Grinton on a sunnier than expected day. Cairn by fence junction with cover in place. Lifting the slab wasn't easy - gardening gloves helped. After that, just a few rocks to clear to expose the bolt and ring. Cover replaced after photos. Thanks again, CJO.

Good parking and path from the road at SE 0368 9635. Took some moving the very heavy stone slab managed to pivot it to the side, be careful when moving this it slipped from my grip and nearly crushed my toes. Super find Chris and Bagging assistant !!! Very good top this one with long views, warm today high grey clouds Ring no 27....

Concrete ring found 18” beneath cairn. 2” bolt. Bitterly cold wind. Found on second visit - did suspect its was under the cairn as a result of a recognisance visit but was not keen to dismantle it previously. A group of walkers expressed interest. Found relics from either install or recomputing visits, which we reinterred - old bottles, pottery and pull rings. If cairn disappears - site is 6.10m diagonally (towards the NW) from small square boundary stone just to west of current intersection of fences, and 2.3m from fence to south of cairn.

Nice location - block possibly buried under where a cairn now stands.

Block, if it still exists, might be buried under cairn on the left.
