Parked as per Painterman, RoW along E bank of river until beneath caves then steep slightly scrambly route up L of caves then thru scrub. Others have taken a gentler route I think. Trig easily found in foot deep hole, soil easily removed, metal rod marker short and not easily found. Another great CJO find, last of 6 BBs and CRs visited today on way home from the excellent 2024 Triggers Spring Meet at Wooler

From Knaresborough, via a muddy footpath along the river bank to the cafe, then up through the caravan park. All quiet. Location at the edge of open green space easily found. Loose soil excavated; rod marker and edge of concrete ring identified. Impressive find by Team CJO.

(3596) Parked on Wetherby Road. Took path down to the Cafe - very busy today. Took me a while to get bearings at this point, but got there in the end. Location a green space abutting the cliff. Plenty of sign warning you of this. Hole back filled so had to dig out again with bare hands. Not good after the recent rain! Rivet confirmed. My first concrete ring. Good find by CJO and assistant.

Parking for 3 cars opposite St Roberts Cave SE 3608 5607 then walked North to cross the river at Grimbald Bridge. Good paths lead down to the Old Mill Cafe and through to a dog walking area. The station quickly found rod type centre super find Chris and bagging assistant. Walking down by the river on a bench-marking trip the severe crag face could be seen so take care up there.

Concrete ring with metal rod found approx 4m to NW of “Danger cliff edge” sign. Found in a 6 inch depression covered in ivy. Probe hit solid material another foot deeper under dense root mat. In full view of caravan park. Sat down and drunk tea from flask whilst bagging assistant dug behind me. Only partially exposed once ring and metal type confirmed, as too hard going with trowel even for bagging assistant. Could see TUMP by incinerator on A1m (summiting on way home) and white horse on North York Moors from here.
