(2921) Parked roadside and walked up to the farm, passing the blocks location as I went. Before I could knock on the door, it opened up. He'd seen my car parked below - these farmers don't miss a trick, I guess. After explaining the reason for my visit, permission was freely given. Had a nice little chat all told. Wondering how many visitors he was likely to get now the block has been found, I reassured him somewhat by stating this was a niche hobby... Stones and plastic bag removed along with some soil to reveal the block with very long rod marker. A great find by Mick and Kim.

No-one about to ask and didn't want to disturb the farmer's dinner so a very quick visit. Easy to re-excavate the few large stones covering the block, exposing the rod marker. Left as found. Overcast day but good views of Almscliff Crag and Wharfedale.

The first bag of the day I drove into the farm yard and bumped into a farmer who readily gave permission. The station quickly found a very long rod type. Great views here into the valley below great find mick and kim.

A big 8 for a first find. Given ok at farm to dig after finding rocks on surface. Hard digging due to large tree roots but got there in the end, 8.5m from Telegraph Pole. Large block with rod type centre
