Retrospective log added after OS station details obtained from the National Archive. Had previously assumed that the cutting was constructed as part of a colliery railway line and that the rivet was placed on an existing structure, such as the base of a signal post. But the OS sketch dated 4.4.88 shows that the mark was on the steps of a 'footbridge over NCB Opencast Access Rd'. The bridge has now gone, with a replacement over Normanton bypass (opened 1999) further E.
