Thought I'd visit some seldom logged pillars to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the T:UK website today. Parked at the station and followed the track through the (abandoned?) farm. Much has changed since the last logged visit and the forest to the NE and SW of the pillar has been felled. Limited views to N and S.

From track from Barhill station, use ride from NX 221 816 - trees way-marked. After large fallen tree, rough path up ride to trig (easier to stick to on descent)

HISTORY: Pillar completed 16th July 1954 costing £17.0s.0d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NX29/T7 in 1955. Levelled for height at pillar top in 1959. Last maintained by the OS in May 1985. SITE VISIT: Parked at Barrhill railway station. Bagged in absolute pitch darkness. Pillar mostly moss covered. Spider centre open. Built without flush bracket. One sight hole open, faces 75° ENE. No view due to surrounding woods.
