Walked up from church in Ludchurch. Approached from south, a couple of choices, plenty of gates. Well worth a visit, the pillar prominent on top of substantial earth works with unrestricted 360 views, west Gower, Saundersfoot, Caldey island and the sweep of the Preceli hills across the northern horizon. Looks like there is no land further west which is higher than this.

Asked at farm for access to fort and pillar and permission granted. Walked across two fields and over 1 electric fence to castle battlement remains and to where pillar sits. Great views from up here too! Spider, Flush Bracket and Cap all in place.

Parked in the spot mentioned by Glaslyn. Contrary to how it looks on the map, you can get to the pillar unobserved. Nice location on top of the fort earthworks.

Would have been a pleasant stroll up three fields through well maintained gates, but the grass was wet after yesterday's showers and I returned with soaking wet feet (cycling shoes are not waterproof!). Still enjoyed the views.

Drove around block previous evening. Decided best approach was a dawn raid. BUT I picked wrong field - chosen because next hedge along from house. Got soaking feet. Went back and went in view of house through one gap, and over a tricky barbed wire fence. TP is on top of prominent remains of ditch and dyke. Obviously walked to - but how?
