Bit of a maze of A roads wandering across the moors from the wonderful Emley mast. Rare to find a little well walked lane near loads of houses which is so clean and feels looked after, a glorious contrast of the village and town scape out to Wakefield and the eastern cargo ports/distribution warehouses and power stations, whilst to west, pretty old Pennine farmland, the mast, the moors, skylarks singing by the smart little hillside estates. Could do with having the bin a little further away from the trig though... Afterwards the Hepworth museum in Wakefield - more beautiful pottery and fab photography collection. Sighting of the museum is superb as the hail storms descend...
