The site is currently under development with an initial phase of houses complete and owner/occupiers in residence. The area where the trig was installed is blocked by large hoardings whilst development continues so I couldn't actually get to Ground Zero. Apparently the wind tunnels used to develop Concorde engines amongst other things are listed structures and are extant on the N edge of the site, according to my bagging companion. What their fate wil be who knows.

Pyestock was home of the National Gas Turbine Establishment until it closed in 2000. Site has now been levelled and due for redevelopment for housing. The building where the rivet was located is now long gone! Revisit 19 October 2019 at 0914 and 19 July at 1524 - housing redevelopment is ongoing but it was still not possible to access the location where the rivet used to be.
