Travelling from west along A631 missed the turning to north just before descent to South Elkington. Fast traffic, being followed so turned in the village. Lane has a very faded no entry sign and notice saying no through road. Stopped about 100 metres south of the farm for pillar right next to the lane. Very convenient. Good views to west, none to east as it is against hedge. Spider and cap in place. There’s a chip out of the top on the west side, having looked more closely at photographs.

(43) Parked up on the main road layby, which is directly opposite the lane leading to the farm, and the pillar. A easy 10 minute walk on the PRoW, so plenty of time to take in the views. Easy to find, though the hedge could do with a trim. Showing some slight old damage around the top, but otherwise in good condition. Revisit 6.4.25 First visited 8 years ago in my early days of trigging, so with a few spare hours today, it was time to reacquaint myself with this and TP3574. Parking and route to the pillar as before. No change in condition for the pillar, with all metalwork still in place - centre cap with lightly indented lettering. Grid reference to 3.8m. The BMD has this pillar sitting at 121.7m above sea level. Pillar history: Built on the 22nd of June 1939, at a cost of £4 11s 9d. Last maintained by the OS in January of 1981.

Joint visit with Carole. Easily accessed being on a bridleway. We left the car at the road as the bridleway is also the farm drive and has prominent private notices. Even so no problem reaching the pillar which is quite well hidden in a hedge just at the entrance to the farm itself. Has obviously suferred some damage during hedge trimming but otherwise everything is in good order.

I pointed this one out to my walking group as we passed by, the W face, FB and top all quite easy to see compared to previous comments, probably because of recent hedge trimming. The top edge of the W face has been damaged, and the W face scored, all by machinery I suspect.
