Enjoyed the 2016 spoof log relating to viewfinder 0.3km NNE, but the BB is at expected location in strip of woodland, midway between two newish fenceposts and 0.6m N of the fenceless fenceline. Spotting a fairly obvious depression on a small path, I probed in soft ground and found it immediately, established the approx centre and dug down. 0.4m down, 2 inch bolt in block, no detector ring, instead a 10cm square of rusty iron plate centred directly over the bolt. Replaced and reburied. Easy access across Therfield Heath, various paths, from car park to WNW

TP is at the revised grid reference given here It is a four foot block surrounded by circular metal seat and full structure is embedded in a concrete base. The top has a metal plate showing directions to both local and distant points of interest. It was erected and presented by the Rotary Club of Royston and supported by Hertfordshire County Council and Countryside Management Services.
