Walked from the centre of town. Easy access to the trig from the west along Restalrig Railway Path and Fleming Place. Easier than going from the club house if there are golfers about.

A stray golf ball thudded to earth remarkably close to me whilst at the pillar. Marked the ball in the long vegetation and told the errant golfer where to look when we passed a couple of minutes later.

My birthday and in between dropping off my grandson at drama school and meeting him again to go to an escape room acitivity (something we both love doing) I had a few hours. I had already visited pillar no 1 (TP6830) using my van which I had then dropped off at Ingliston P&R , catching the tram to St Andrew's Square then walked to this pillar. I checked in at the club house (more out of courtesy), received the H&S advice of watch out for golfers (no probs) and walked to pillar along edge of course. No real views except of the course but an easy pillar to find.Went on to the more difficult TP2929 (Dunsapie Tank)

Parked at the club house. Asked if was ok to walk along the golf course, no problem. Just a short walk to the trig, which has no view.

Access from footpath between houses and golf course, just before steps down, gap, or track to right, bear left towards course boundary, trig point at end of remains of a metal fence. Close to hedges but plainly visible. View towards clubhouse down fairway.

Turned off Seafield Rd just after Mcdonalds into what once was the children's hospital. Followed the road round towards the golf course and parked in a vacant residents bay. There is a path onto the golf course and not far to the trig.

like others,along private road to the playing field,round the back of the houses and along out of bounds section of golf course,the pillar sits just around the corner of the woods,hardly any golfers around.

Parked half way along Craigentinny Ave N, where the residential houses start. Walked down that road and circled back round behind them across golf course to trig. Pillar sits on edge of the course partially in scrub. No top cap or plug; LHS sight hole open. No views.

P107. Parked at end of private road. Then walked around to trig which was straightforward. Interesting to see a golf ball in the top. A first hole in one for a trig.

Parked at the end of the pot holed private road and headed up to the trig, surprised people were still playing golf as it was very dark by now, had to duck to miss a ball!

Had a chat with local golfers and starter at pro shop before starting out but surprisingly none of them knew that there was a trig at the end of the 18th tee, i think they thought i was a bit of a nutter but on my return back i showed them that the trig is just visible from the clubhouse and it seemed to create a lot of interest among other golfers at Craigentinny GC

Accessed by Craigentinny Avenue North, from where it is a short walk round the edge of the golf course to the pillar. Had to trample down the weeds to get at the flush bracket. Plenty of golfers, but no comments.

Very good condition pillar on a public golf course. Pretty low lying and climbing on top doesn't overly improve the view. Although, decent view lines along the coast to the east and south. Not overly spectacular though.... No hassles with golfers. Very quiet morning. Accessed by walking up from Craigentinny Avenue along the footpath. FB faces south-ish. West hole open only. Cap still present with indented lettering.

Revisit. Some idiot has poured black paint over the OS spider plug, but at least it is still there. Shallow engraved font. Only LHS sighting hole open, slight damage to pillar there.

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 24th January 1943 costing £6.18s.0d. In 1943 this marker was computed for triangulation as secondary station NT48/T85 in the Edinburgh block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1966. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in November 1981.
