Cycled in from parking area at Loch Bradan. Approached from the track to the N of the trig. Bit of a faff through newly felled area but great views.

There's a dearth of parking opportunities in the area so had to make do with the logging road entrance at NX 332 950. Road walk to North Balloch then followed agentmancuso's route. Someone's hung white plastic strips off the tree branches in the firebreaks to guide the way to the trig, but unfortunately they peter out before you get there. Original cap still present.

P Sally Pollock's Bridge, road to North Balloch & track to FB (right-angled FB is good, curved one doesn't exist) then up easily through trees. Came down NW from summit through easyish trees then skirting huge windfell barrier to W, on to track to Lennie.

From north Balloch farm to west - parking permission given by friendly owner. Forest break SE at NS357965. At small (currently 1' high) conifer in centre of break, turn left on narrow break NS 3584 9635. becoming blocked by new growth, so took direct line thru' open trees

HISTORY: Pillar completed 28th June 1954 costing £39.9s.0d. Computed at teriary triangulation station NX29/T11 in 1955. Levelled for height value at pillar top also in 1955. Last maintained by the OS in June 1985. SITE VISIT: Asked permission to park at North Balloch Farm. Couple friendly, more than happy to accommodate and interested in surrounding hills. Followed mapped track which rises to a high point NW of trig, then followed mapped breaks to summit clearing. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with raised large narrow letters. Built without flush bracket. Spider leg perpendicular to a pillar edge points 45° NE, only open sight hole on same face. High enough above trees to enjoy open outlook. Returned to car to find a basket of freshly laid farm eggs with note attached waiting for us. Received with many thanks. Bonus flush bracket (S5128) on north gable of farm building.

vgc, built without FB; metal cap, wide raised letters. In large clearing at summit; fine view. From ENE, trail shoes for the run in, were OK for forest ascent: steep but fairly open plantation. A few wind-thrown trees: ascend from ~due N of the summit.

This trig point has no flush bracket. GPS error given as +/- 5m at time of visit. Access to this trig point requires navigating forest track and then a couple of hundred metres up a forested hill.
