From car park about half a mile north of the escarpment edge, head south west for about 250 metres then left at a track, past an enormous fallen tree on the left with a broken trunk, quite dramatic, turn right at next track passing a stack of logs, the reservoir is on the left. Fortunately the pillar is outside the compound. Continue just past the reservoir, the pillar is on the left in the brambles looking very sad covered in moss. Vegetation slight but still annoyingly scratchy. No views.
