As others have, I walked over to this trig from the one at Steele's Knowe over rough heathery terrain, nice and dry. Great views to the hills of the northwest from the trig point as well as down into the Strath, descended back to the car via Westbow Burn to Kaimknowe Farm and then along the Glendevon road.

Add on to walk up Steele's Knowe. I followed a dry stone wall most of the way. Quite squelchy in parts. Nicer spot than Steele's Knowe which is spoiled by the turbines. FB in place, cap gone. Pillar sound though weathered on one side.

Walked over to this trig from the one at Steele's Knowe. Handy that the two trigs are close to one another but seperated by some rough heathery terrain. Today's sunny weather meant this wasn't too much a problem and the reward was some great views to the hills of the northwest from the trig point before descending back to the car park at Whitens in Glendevon.

Parked just up from East Mains Farm on the Duchally road, and followed a dry-stone wall and fence all the way up to the trig. The walking and climbing was made easier by the soft grass and moss. I avoided the heather near the top on the right-hand side of the wall. Just a few fences to clamber over. Pillar fine with open cap & one s/h open. Then visited the nearby Gleneagles Railway Station (1919) which is a grand attractive canopied building, but seems rather like a ghost station for no-one else was about; no staff or erstwhile passengers. And every now and then a loudspeaker would broadcast a message for.......me, I suppose. Very strange.
