Parked in Llangurig and walked south along the verge of the A470 and then up the footpath by Cil Gwgan Fach. The path is somewhat overgrown with gorse on the upper slopes but passible. No fences to climb on this route up to the top. Came down via Craignant which proved a clearer route . Nice views from the top. Liked the way the FB had been rubbed shiny by the sheep.

Had been walking in the dark for a few hours by this point and very glad to soon be able to get down for a pot of tea in Llangurig.

Parked E of pillar in forest track entrance. Walked to the end of the road and followed the row to the first fenceline which I then followed to the trig. OK view.

Geocaching and trigging once again hand in hand. If it was not for a new little geo series I doubt I would have got up here, especially on a windswept wet day. Interesting to note the erosion to the West exposing the stones of the concrete where as the East is still a flat surface.

no two of three this weekend at elan valley there was a strong wind on the top it was dry we didnot stop for long good views all round

Parked at end of gated no through road and made up a short circular walk. Extremely windy at the summit but very good all round views. As we were leaving the parking spot, we spotted a stoat, a nice touch to finish the visit.

Parked due East of the pillar up a no through road ,lovely quiet spot with minimal noise from A44 and A470.Walk in on Bridleway then across sheep fields,excellent views all around and glad to put one to bed that i have seen from Llangurig many times!

Quite hazy but glad to make it up here at last. Parking on the A44 is a bit aukward so drove round and walked in from the NE. Easy rolling hills to stretch out legs on and a Red Kite circling for company. Trig unchanged since last visitor

Great to see some more wind turbines just a few miles south; I was beginning to have withdrawal symtoms. The views from here are great all round. The pillar is in good condition with the original plug - another one of these funny flush bracket numbers like the last one. There are some slight chips in the pillar on the SW/NW faces and some paint visible on the SE/NE faces. The concrete base is a few inches proud of the grass. Nice spot.
