Scramble up steep bank on west of Logmore Lane, about level with the northern edge of the trees on top of the hill. Over a fence and a gate. Slightly overlooked by houses on the lane, exposed crossing paddock. Steep hill but trees at top provide cover. Once through the trees, turn south. Pillar soon comes into view. Good views except to the east. Extra points for views and awkward access. Unusual raised prefix S, although same on all four visited this day.

Tried to access the pillar via the horse paddocks to the east on Logmore Lane. Unfortunately the person in paddock didn’t grant permission. I’ll return in the future to try again.

TP3280 The pillar is located at the top of the hill.

Parked at church (FB on W face) to N. Walked S on minor road, over field gate into paddock, up through scrubby woodland to top paddock. Exposed to Applegarth Farm, but no-one about. Pillar in good condition with minor chipping to top screed. Original cap in place, deeply indented lettering; BSM-style FB; LHD side sight hole open. 360deg views, a little limited to SE by woodland.

Why does everyone seem to be out when I call. Though about a without permission ascent but felt too exposed both on parking and the route up

Access is a bit tricky. We parked on the yellow road to the east (not easy) and I jumped a gate to gain access into horse paddoscks and made my way up and around the north side of the bit of woodland. Once past the wood you're OK, and you're not really overlooked crossing the paddocks. Good views. Plug with heavily indented lettering.

This one is located on private land, or so the very nice man i asked told me; he enquired why I was interested, after my explaination (which seems to satisfy him) he explained how to get up to the pillar, and then went on to say that if anyone asked me what I was doing, don't tell them I told you! Pillar is located on a well kept area of grass (almost like a lawn surrounding it)and is in good condition. see images. I have given this a high score due to me being the first to log it, and for the way (like secret squirrel) I found it.
