Really enjoyed this walk. Even in the rain. Parked outside the church, walked along the road then up into the wood and walked along the crest to be trig side of the fence. Stunning views and had the place to ourselves.

Parked at Oare School as it was the weekend. Took path to east of village. Pity that trig point lies on 'wrong' side of barb wire fence which can be crossed with care and balance.

A long walk out of Pewsey followed by a steep ascent of the ridge to find this superb pillar. Great views over Pewsey Vale.

A very beautiful walk along the crest of the hill from the Martinsell pillar. Everywhere you look is an amazing view. Would have been a 10/10 if there wasn't a long barbed wire fence in the way. Trig is close enough to the fence that I'm counting it as a bag, though! A must-visit if you're ever in the area. (To get the other side of the fence, there's a gate at the far East end of the sheep field, near the kissing gate and the sign to Martinsell on the main path.) As others have observed, there's a small block with an OS symbol and a bolt near the trig on the path side of the fence.

Parked in a layby on the main road (A345) through the village of Oare, immediately south of The White Hart & directly opposite the junction with Pound Lane. Walked down Pound Lane then took the White Horse Trail up to Giant's Grave. Passed the benchmark to the SW of the trig. Trig is on the N side of the barbed wire fence, but there is a convenient opportunity to get through the fence a little further NE past the trig. Remnants of the electric fence present (but it's not electrified). Trig in good condition, centrecap missing, front & right sightholes closed, left & rear sightholes open. I left a 2p coin in the rear sighthole for the next visitor to find. Stunning views from up there, very windy. 10 out of 10! Continued along the ridge to Martinsell trig station.

Parked in Oare and then a hard slog up the hill. Could have been worse...we were watching Orienteerers running up it!!must be mad. Well worth the slog with great views to be had.

Bagged as YSM380 Giants Grave. Parked in the lane and followed the route uphill. A wee baby trig with OS benchmark and rivet is close to the main pillar. A steep walk for almost all of it but it was a lovely sunny day. If you are interesting in logging it it's: Rivet: Giants Grave RIVET: RIVET SUR STO 0.9M SE HEDGE (ODN 242.9348m, AGL 0.0m). Found as YOSM 380. Parked in village and made my way up to the TP via a zig zag path but the bridleway path marked 'White Horse Trail' was much easier. TP behind fence but accessible - just.

I left the car in the car park to the north east and walked along the ridge to this one via the Martinsell pillar. An easy walk along the ridge . The pillar is in generally good condition with a few chips out of the top edge and the centre plug has been removed. It was very misty this morning which obstructed what I imagine are to be exceptional views to the south and east.

Pillar in good condition, on the wrong side of the fence line so a quick hop over is needed to get up close and personal with it. Good views from here south over the Vale of Pwesey towards Salisbury Plain, and east along the southern escarpment of the Marlborough Downs as Giant's Grave pokes out into the vale. Rain threatening on this second visit so views a bit hazy.

A charm of goldfinches were flying around the crest of the hill on my approach from Martinsell. The pillar is sited on a grassy promontory close to some earthworks; it has no plug and has FB S2173. It looks south over Pewsey and its Vale to the scarp of Salisbury Plain from Walbury to Westbury; west over Oare to distant views of the flatland of West Wiltshire and to the north are Oare and Huish Hills with the scarp-line meandering away to the northwest.

This is on the north side of the fence from the rivet and someone had made it easy to crawl through the barbed wire by removing the barbs. In good condition on top of a concrete footing. The plug is missing.

Long walk in the wonderful Marlborough Downs on a hot (29/30 C) windy day. Fascinating Iron Age promontory fort of just over two acres is the Giant's Grave.

Easy to locate, but access requires a minor trespass and a climb over a fence. This pillar has great views and is in a really nice location. Well worth a visit.
