Rang the bell and knocked on the door. The owner was very friendly and accommodating; he showed me to the pillar, moved a stone urn from in front of it so I could get a photo, and offered to remove Buddha from the top so I could see the spider, but I didn't want to risk breaking it so I said not to bother. Trig in good condition.

Finally managed to visit this pillar! Using OS map 1st time looked in hedge not knowing it was in garden, at least 2 visits with no-one in, and last time found the owner in but "not convenient" to visit. Owner out but access given by gardener. Admired the garden which would have been enjoyed by my mother.

I asked permission at the house and was taken through to the garden, interesting conversation with the owner, the land used to be his Father In Laws paddock and it had three house built on it in the 70's. Pillar good condition, still capped with a Buddha (The owner if i wanted if off and said I would have to help him! I declined) nice setting for a Pillar.

Didn't realise it was in the back garden of the property adjacent to the church so spent quite a bit of time hunting in the hedgerow near the coordinates. Couldn't see the pillar over the boundary and no one home so didn't get to find it on this visit.

Joint visit with Carole. We struck really lucky with this one as the householder came home just as we arrived. He very kindly allowed us to visit unlocking a gate for us to enter the garden. The pillar is still the resting place for a large Buddha. Looks in good condition and well cared for.

This is the back garden of the house next to the church, opposite a rather nice shed! I spoke to the land owner, a very nice man, who was very willing to show me the TP, and happily chatted about it and wanting to keep it there. He said that when he bought the property he was told it had to stay and he had to give access to it (I failed to mention that might be the OS only!). He said he's had a few people to look at it, including a school party, but none in the past 4 years. Nice view to Grafham water.

Agree with Elsworth I would have thoght this would have been easy to bag but obviously I was wrong! I'll give it another go during the winter when the vegetation has thinned out abit. Also agree with Elsworth that jaylay probably visited Agden Hill (also beside Grafham Water)but if not lets us know where it is:-)
