(1524) Cotleigh Gardens, and No 12 is the one you want. Wasn't going to knock on, if there was no signs that the owner wasn't yet up, but the curtains was open, so knock on I did. When Mr Potts open the door to find me standing there he said with a smile "Let me guess, you've come to see the pillar!" Permission to visit freely was given. After I'd photographed and logged the pillar, Mr Potts came to the back door, and a good chat about a whole raft of subjects was then had. It turns out we have an acquaintance in common in Cleethorpes, which was a real 'small world' moment. Mr Potts was also good enough to give me some spare photographs of a Fox that seems to have adopted the pillar - or maybe it's because that section of garden catches the sunlight! But a lovely one to visit - one that will linger in the memory, and a big thank you to Mr Potts for allowing folks to visit. Pillar history: Built on the 12th of September 1947, at a cost of £5 10s 9d. Last maintained by the OS in October of 1985.
