Parked along Horse Lane and followed a permissive footpath to the bottom of the trig field. Had to detour from the path across the field to the trig itself. Nice 360 view.

Second of three pillars in the Peak District with Trudge Tracey. Parked in the lay-by by and followed PROW before tracking left accross the field to the pillar. Good views in all directions and the pillar retains its original spider.

Easy roadside parking just after the farm entrance, Then take the PROW, Trig can be seen on your left hand side in top field in the distance, follow track then head for gate way to field were pillar sits no need to climb any walls, Trig in great condition with all its metal work and good views off in all directions

Parked along Horse Lane. Then walked along the public right of way, before heading north west through several fields, and then climbing over a wall into the field where the pillar is located. The field was full of sheep.

The honeymoon period is over for cyclists, the volume of traffic on the roads is back to normal. Had a pedal to this trig and easiest way is to take the track that leaves from Horse Lane to the PRofW. There is a gap in the wall (walls not shown on the 1:50,000) and over/around a field. Low lying trig in a wall corner. 1/2 gifted to Maya's 4th chick who finally hatched and is doing well. (Rutland Ospreys).

Re-visit on a walk from Monyash down Lathkill Dale over to Bole Hill via the Magpie mine. (plenty of warmer air gushing up out of the mine shaft today) Pillar, all metal work intact. visibility decreasing by the minute as the low mist was following us in from the NE. quite eerie. visited with PL.

Parked on verge by start of row directly S of trig. Followed row until gate into trig field was reached then straight up the hill. The farmer in his tractor a couple of fields away didn't seem concerned by my presence.

I parked on Horse Lane opposite the footpath. The trig is easily spottable and only needs a short "accidental" diversion from the footpath. Beware of jumpy cows

Parked in large pull in opposite footpath to the south,it wasnt as misty as bole hill but as soon as i reached the pillar,the mist started descending,views okay,mainly farmland.accessed from footpath into large opening to the big field,pillar located in top corner looking a bit neglected and very overgrown,glad i didnt have to do the stealth approach as robinhood!!

Awkward to get to, plus farmer was in field at back of wall working on the cut grass. Crept up and bagged it, feeling a bit of an idiot with the subterfuge.OK views all round, especially to the south. 4 of 5 trigs today.

I did my back in during the week. No, no, I'm OK, but climbing stiles is a bit painful. So this little trip with a stile EVERY HUNDRED YARDS was a joy! Parked by the Bulls Head in Monyash. (Should have realised at this point that a second trig today just wasn't going to happem!) Down to Horse Lane and then clockwise via Nursery Fields Farm. Pleasant country walking. No real height gained. Cut into the hay meadow via a gate for the short trespass. Thanks Theo D Lite. That explains the wide margin, and there's that mine from Bole Hill again! As predicticted. An early finish and into the pub. As good as expected.

Farmers hay making in the field below the pillar off Horse Lane so I approached from the north east through the wood. Strange to walk downhill to the trigpoint. Nice views over Monyash.

Would normally only be worth a 5 but I hadn't been out for several weeks (due to a nasty respiratory infection) so I was just glad to see a trig pillar !! Approached from Monyash and Horse Lane. Although this trig sits in the corner of a field it was nevertheless easy to see as its head was poking above the dry stone walls.

Metal plug [indented letters]. Private. Farm below not named on OS map. Trig in rough at top of pasture & clearly visible from road to north east. It's actually possible to reach it from there directly across the fields. No need to climb any walls, as ample gates & gaps in them. Peak District National Park.

Passing whilst out walking with my walking group, The Irregulars, LDWA and did a short detour from the footpath. Pillar in good condition with original indented lettering plug. Some lovely all round views from this location.

Take the path leaving the road NE of Monyash. Trig is visible on left. If you stay with the path to a little beyond, you can pass through a gate and cross diagonally the field back to the trig point. This avoids crossing any walls.

Walk in off ROW to North,then across fields,no walls to cross all gaps till the one by pillar which is a step over.Views good.

Once you’re about 300 feet from the trigpoint the footpath gets a little flaky although there was no need to climb over any walls. Trigpoint in good condition complete with original plug and no sign of physical damage. Good views all around, with the best view south towards Monyash.
