Space to park car without blocking field gate at NX 19278 73692. Across the level crossing and through Markdhu then through gate at NX 18300 73803 onto the open fell. Soggy going most of the way to the trig with a couple of easy barbed wire fences to cross. Good view.

Parked at Miltonise Farm after chatting with farmer. Good track leads over rly line to Markdhu, whence the ground is quite rough. Pillar has a number of superficial cracks to the screed; constructed without a FB; original centre cap retained, raised lettering; 2 sight holes open, on opposite sides. Extensive panoramic views.
