In grassy area edged by gorse and birch next to car park. Pillar has is a reddish colour, I think coating. Good views to south

A rather nice viewpoint from the edge of the Ashdown Forest, and fairly easy access from the road. Similar to the other Ashdown trigpoints, this one has a slightly reddish hue. There was a decent view just about visible through the summer foilage.

Looks like it’s been painted a reddish brown colour. Just to the west of the car park at Hindleap Warren in amongst ferns. Good views to the south.

Car parking area to SE. Short walk through sparse woodland, plenty of dead bracken and gorse. Pillar has a reddish tinge to it; no centre cap/plug; all sight holes open with some damage around the front one. No views.

Bagged as YSM0565 Hindleap. Day 1 started in Inverness airport at 6am! Flight diverted due to medical emergency and even more serious no bacon rolls on plane....do hope the lassie concerned is ok! First of the trip, easy bag, 80m from parking, unusually brown coloured trig. This trip had been planned in Mr U2s head for some time and he had already visited or logged most of the trigs on the old page, shame his head thinks we travel at 400 mph and have 48 hour days but hey you have to have a dream #1 day#1 in the bag

Like the last visitor I noticed this was now a YOSM. Situated conveniently close to the car park! Centre plug missing.

Easy roadside car park 20 yard or so away. Good views to the South. Over the country border for next trig.

Stopped on way home from Gills Lap for a cuppa, to admire the good views of S Downs, and log this trig (all of 20 paces from the car park!). Another red Ashdown Forest trig but showing its age - no cap or plug; all s/holes open and significant damage around that on W face - not clear how this has happened.

Revisit to this one 7 years on - I think I first came to all the pillars on Ashdown Forest in the 70's on a Scout map reading exercise, loverly area, lots of great walks and views. There is some strange minor damage around the sight hole below the FB looks like a chain or something has been places round it?,

Located on the Northwest corner of Ashdown Forest in a clearing alongside Hindleap car park. A short walk to the south gives excellent views towards the South Downs. The pillar itself is in good condition albeit a little grubby.
