Approach from minor road to SW. GR8 views of Knockdolian & Ailsa Craig on way across...both looking strangely similar on sunny Sunday but never lazy afternoon. No flush bracket.

HISTORY: Pillar completed 17th August 1954 costing £21.7s.6d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NX29/T16 in 1955. Levelled for height value at pillar top also in 1955. last maintained by the OS in May 1985. SITE VISIT: Pillar in good condition, never had a flush bracket. Spider retains OS centre cap with raised large narrow letters. One sight hole open, faces 102° east.

Cap intact. Easy approach from cattle grid at high point to ESE, mostly decent turf after initial boggy patch. Good views back to Knockdolian and to Grey Hill.
