From road through village, took footpath to the east, was strangely drawn to the masts and reservoir on the south of the field. That’s the wrong way, so, long way around to the north side of the field. Pillar is in the hedge, easy enough to spot when walking past it but not from a distance. Luckily the FB is on the south side facing the path. Raised S prefix. Some views towards the north over the hedge.

Not the easiest place to find a parking spot! Eventually squeezed in near the Three Horseshoes and walked up to join the NDW. Very pleasant walk and although the pillar is disappearing into the hedge it is still quite visible. Spitfire flew over us several times. Assume it is facing a reservoir but can't find out anything about the mound by the masts.

This was one of those Trigs that I decided to do having not researched the site first, so for all I knew it might not have been there. By the time the light was fading fast I was beginning to think that this was going to be a removed or couldn't find it situation. Despite the bold sign on my O/S 147 it didn't appear to be here. My two little helpers were having no luck either so I said we'll have one last intense root around this hedgerow and Hey Presto! buried behind thick undergrowth I found it . The kid's helped in creating an opening so that we could take the accompanying pictures. The Trig is in good condition with Spider and FB all present and correct. Future loggers need to be aware that it is set well back in the hedgerow and this will no doubt reclaim the nice opening that we made by this time next year.

The maps show this trigpoint as being on the edge of a small rectangle of woodland. In reality the ground of the wood was heavily overgrown, as well as being very wet on this particular day. By the time I reached the site I was sopping wet and had just about lost interest in the damn thing! It was not visible, so I decided to leave it and return under better conditions.
