Made it! Parked in Sennen Cove, beautiful, and walked along the coast path enjoying the stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, gale blowing in , and terrific waves. The pillar is about fifty metres south of The Signpost, west of the cafe terrace. Built using local materials, spider and cap in place , spider offset. There were a few people about but the kiosk for the named locations was closed because of the strong wind so probably quieter than usual. Nobody else seemed interested in the pillar. The most south westerly pillar, bar one, which is another 28 miles to the south west (one day), Isles of Scilly not visible today given the blown sea spray. Longships Lighthouse visible with waves crashing over the rocks. Quick stroll over to The First and Last House then back to Sennen Cove. Was last here to watch the Eclipse in 1999 (!) Has to be a ten.

Pillar reduced in height, faced in stone, central bracket very off-centre, obscured behind a retaining wall of the lands end hotel. Such a shame for a pillar in such an important position.

Well, the way to avoid extortionate parking fees is to walk from Sennen, which we did on a 5-mile circuit, biting off this portion of the SWCP. Been here before, but have resisted bagging the trig until it featured as part of the coast path yomp. Camping at Cardinney, 5 miles inland. I can recommend the pub at St Buryan - first proper "landlord's half" I've had in years!

This place surpassed all expectations of just how bad it was going to be...Complete & absolute exploitation & profiteering, an overpriced rip-off & but for the trig, a most dreadful place...Why 'turn' what should be a wild & desolate place into something much worse than Blackpool? Car parking at Land's End in a field GR 34796 25025 chargeable at £6 for three hours...Made sure we didn't spend a single penny more in the hour & a quarter we spent there. 'Gave' our money to The first & last Inn...Two delicious Fish Stews! Parking aside, the trig, though a re-build was a rather splendid one though it's position against a wall & in front of a hotel, absolute pants! The place was even 'cashing-in' on payments taken for having a photograph taken alongside the 'John o' Groats' fingerpost...unless you're George Ezra! 'Boulder-hopping' yesterday in accessing Trink Hill...wild, desolate & free the way it ought to be! Anyway...Job done would never go back there!

Short walk from LE car park... £7.50 to park, unless you're a bagger and let the good man taking the money that you won't be long, in which you too may be able to bag it gratis. Stone-built pillar sits on the SWCP, original centre cap retained, raised lettering. Good views, W especially. I will likely have bagged this around 55 years ago, but can't be certain.

Very easy to find trig at Land's End, I'm surprised I never saw it when I was here 19 years ago. Great views in perfect conditions, you could easily see the Scilly Isles. 3rd of 5 trigs today. 2 FBMs before; Tolcarne and Sancreed and 2 pillars afterwards Bartinney Downs and Carn Gloose. Not too busy.

2 of 4 on the Cornwall coastal hike. Easy to get to at the back of the Lands End Hotel (£7.00 to park!). Great views. Trig has obviously been rebuilt at some time in the past. Spider is off centre. Could not see sighting tubes.

First visited Lands End in 1993, and have visited it many times since then. The pillar is by a wall at the back of the Longships Bar & Restaurant. Great vantage point for viewing the Longships Lighthouse.

Also YSM0123. 4th YSM of the day. Been coming to Cornwall for years, but never been to Lands End before - until now. This trig/YoSM is the ONLY reason I paid £5.00 to park - what a racket. To my horror there were lots of people sat drinking around the hotel grounds and very near the trig. Not one to draw attention to myself by doing a full blown SELFIE, I opted to casually do one and hopefully go unnoticed? Think I managed it. Great location and fine weather made the day. Now off to Botallack for 2 more YSM's.

Last day of holiday so a tour of the far west. Started here - stumped up the £3 parking charge, and briefly passed through a very tacky visitor attraction (??!) full of senior citizens on coach tours (on a totally foggy day in March?!). Trig is easy find, stone built, offset spider, metal cap with raised letters (some worn away), S s/hole open. Shame there were absolutely no views but a good trig to bag, nonetheless.

Having flown back from the IOS to Land's End Airport I thought that I would pop to Land's End having not been there before. I can see why "meandmymum" described it as tacky, I had heard it was and they are not wrong. It would be much nicer left as a natural site. I didn't upload a picture as there are a lot already. Incidentally it is "only" a fiver to park now.

A fantastic trip to Cornwall and Dartmoor to the cradle of can-sports (Letterboxing) Great nature and lots of fun! Excellent visibility today. Could see the Isles of Scilly on the horizon. Was last here in the summer of 2009 whilst walking around the southwest. It was nice and quiet while I was at the pillar, but soon there were two coaches worth of tourists on the way.

Visited here many times before, but this is my first time logging the trig. A lovely place to walk the coastal path, with some cracking views. The tourist "attraction" has spoiled it somewhat, but in most places to can turn your back to it (and the crowds). A bit windy here today, but a nice day all the same.

Pillar sits behind the Longships Inn at the Land’s End ‘attraction’ which is a very disappointing collection of buildings. Thankfully I arrived after 5pm and all the attractions were shut! Pillar is stone-built and in good condition; FB faces N; S sighthole open, all others plugged. Paused afterwards to watch the sun slipping towards the horizon over Longships (Lighthouse TP9879) with a pint of local ale before heading for digs in Falmouth.

The pillar stands just below the wall on the edge of the beer patio in front of the conservatory of the Longships Bar of the Land’s End Hotel. It is a stubby stone built pillar showing more cement than stone. The spider is offset and is plugged by a metal cap with narrow raised lettering. It has FB S8142. The view is mainly out to sea to the west. The Longships Lighthouse is a mile and a half off shore. Wolf Rock Lighthouse and the Isles of Scilly could be seen in the distance. The rugged coast can be seen as far as Cape Cornwall in the north. The nearby cliffs are spectacular and several seals were seen in the surf near the off shore rocks. The theme park is very commercial but the grand children did enjoy the Skull Rock 4D show and were very excited by the visit and winching demonstration by an air-sea rescue helicopter. Land’s End is within the West Penwith sector of the Cornwall AONB and the First and Last Café is a Grade II listed building.

Had planned to bag three more trigs in the St Ives Area but due the heavy rain and bad planing i:e no waterproofs and wet through decided to visit this easy trig. Bit of a rip off £3 just to park car or is it my bad mood due to been in wet clothes? Trig easy to find with good view all round trig in good condition.Long drive home to Barnsley to look forward to.

Late on a not very nice day so not too many people around, and the pillar is not at the main view points. A rather dumpy-looking pillar constructed of stones and cement, with too much of the latter, questionably worth the £3 to park to view it.

Parked in Sennen and walked the South Coast path to get here. The weather was a bit overcast and windy, visibility was just enough to make out the Scily Isles on the horizon. Now we have the Lands End trigpoint, will have to make an effort to get the John O Groats (Duncansby Head) trigpoint aswell.

This was the final T/P of the third day of my expedition into the south west. I’d sat in the car for a few minutes but it had been raining steadily for the last couple of hours and didn’t look like stopping any time soon so I braved the weather and headed around to the rear of the hotel. What those folk looking at me through the window of the Longships Bar though of the idiot taking pictures of a lump of rock in that weather I can only imagine. The pillar is built of local stone instead of cast concrete and has a full compliment of metalwork. All very nice, but why did they put the spider so far off centre? The view was just what you’d expect... sea to the west, hotel to the east and not a lot worth mentioning in any other direction. Possibly it would be more inspiring on a warm, sunny afternoon. The sight of those drinking in the warm was too much.... I checked into the hotel for the night and joined them.

Logged this whilst working from Lands End to Portcurno. Lovely place spoilt by the theme park. Visit for the exceptional views of surrounding coast and Longships.

We only really bagged this one becuase we were there.Lands End theme park is not one of my fav places to spend the day.We parked there and took the coast path to Sennen and back. Pillar looks fine but always seemed to have someones child on it, including at times one or both of mine!

Forget the car park, do the circular walk from Sennen Quay to Nanjizal and back via Lands End. Their were plenty of seals to see en route and rumours of Basking Sharks, though we saw none. Beautiful day.

Easy to locate and access. Great views out to sea; today we could make out the Islands of Scilly. Both the pillar and the location have been commercialised, understandable, but in some ways it does spoil it a bit. Visited while walking the SW Coast Path.

Refused to pay the car park fee (tell them you're staying in the hotel!!). Hate commerciliation here but just keep your back to it and enjoy the views. The Isles of Scilly can be seen on a fine day.

Made my visit early to avoid the crowds. Pillar located close to the hotel, as reported previously. Great views, pity about the admission charge.
