Parked in roadside pull in opposite Linghaw farm and walked short way down track, Pillar clearly visible behind wall, good views off in all directions. Trig still has all its metal work.

Unable to see the flush bracket because of the barbed wire fence and it being overgrown. Amazing views of ingleborough - a sadly a stinky muck heap right opposite the pillar. Score for views of Surrounding countryside only!

Found this by chance when strolling slowly on way back from Horton in Ribblesdale. Hidden in what looks like a dumping ground . Surrounded by wire fencing for some reason .

A very easy pillar to access - we pulled in off the road into the rough track next to the mast, and the pillar is a short distance away in a scrubby field. The fence is dilapidated and access is very straightforward - no crops or livestock to disturb, just manure heaps, farmyard detritus and assorted rubbish. With fabulous views of Ingleborough and Whernside, this pillar really deserves better. It is in fine condition with a full set of metalwork - just a shame about the scruffy location.

From the nearby lay-by walked up the road to the Trig which is situated between a Comms mast and a neglected Veg plot ..some rows of leeks growing..The Trig is in Good Condition with its Original Cap , all Sight Holes are Blocked. Good view of Ingleborough., and piles of Manure

Parked in the layby on the s side of the road to the w of the pillar. The trig was almost completely engulfed by nettles and thistles so gave them a good tread down so I could take some photo's. Fine view of the fells of the Western Dales.

Second visit. For photographs and GPS measurement. SITE VISIT: Parked in wide entrance off north side of B6480 beside trig plot. Overgrown derelict plot between public road and grazing fields. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre cap with shallow engraved letters. Flush bracket faces southwest, ~235°. Sight holes buried. Limited open outlook but spectacular view to Ingleborough.

Safe parking in the entrance gateway next to the transmitter mast - which has loads of starlings perched on it during our visit!. The rather sad looking trig was tangled up in the remains of the wire fence - the farmer has been removing the muck pile and moved the fence to get his wagon in.

T.P. is located in allotment. Nothing fantastic about this location, just reasonable views, but poor immediate surroundings (other than Geocache very close!!) Not easy to park on roadside, but we parked on road as best we could. However glad we did not attempt to park on track, as a large cattle transpoter arrived on track from road !!

Easy to find behind the radio mast although the TP is actually behind a fence but accessed through a gate. It is in good condition and some good views towards Ingleborough and the dales.

Visible and accessible. Called whilst passing along adjacent road. Near to radio mast and enclosed in fences surrounding decepit small holding. No problem reaching. Pillar for all that in good condition. Original plug with indented lettering. Not the best of locations but the views, particularly of Ingleborough are great.

Undistinguised site, with broken down chicken shed. Wanted to see if I could see the pillar on Ingleborough. I could not - too far back on the flat top. I think ling means heather, and haw means view, so it must at one time been a place where heather was in view!

First visit. To record FB number. HISTORY: The pillar was completed in May 1949 costing £7.12s.6d. In 1950 this marker was computed for triangulation as tertiary station SD47/T32 in the Barrow-in-Furness secondary block. Flush bracket S5402 was levelled for height in 1953. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in June 1976. SITE VISIT: Great view to Ingleborough. Unknown to me at the time, this was to be the last trig pillar I visited with my dad.
