My Corbett #86, Rosie's 85th. On the basis of weather forecasts a week earlier, I almost cancelled this trip thinking there was no point in driving all this way...a truly fabulous day, cold and windy on the top but amazing air clarity and bright sunshine. The views from this hill are simply stunning, in the past 3 days we've worked our way up the A838 Ben Hee, Ben Leoid then this and the other two don't compare either as viewpoints or hill walks. Would add that its well worth adding the slight detour along the east ridge to Carn Dearg, amazing views of Hope and Loyal. What a great day!

From Kinloch via Meallan Liath Beag & Carn Dearg & was rewarded with great views into the corries either side of Carn Dearg. Brutal wind on Corbett summit.

Parked at Kinloch and followed the track along to Aultanrynie. Picked up the zig zag stalkers path and followed it up and round to spot height 513. Wandered over the Meallan Liath Beag and made the steep ascent onto the ridge. Light rain showers kept drifting by and it was quite cold. Turned left on the ridge and ascended over slabby stones to the summit trig which is protected by a low wall. Very extensive views. The cold drove us off the summit and we descended directly south to eventually pick up the stalkers path again. Very dry underfoot as there hasn't been much rain. With Nozzer.

Logging this some years after I climbed this hill as I trawl through walks that predated my joining this site. In my notes I comment that the weather was better than forcast but with increasing wind speeds. My photos are lost due to a system failure and no back up made.

vgc (minor damage to top screed), built without FB. Having previously done the Grahams I returned to the car after Hee and drove round to start of Aultanrynie track. It soon started raining and was a cold wet windy afternoon. Straight up to Meallan Liath Beag ridge, out to Carn Dearg (CT) then bagged the three GTs. The NW top was desparately cold reached by an awkward descent on wet boulders. Fortunately the higher Meall Garbh was less exposed as was the Corbett. Unsure whether the in-spate Allt an Reinidh was bridged, I returned to E col and kept the burn on my R, but neednt have worried: good bridge by Aultanrynie. The Goretex earned its keep again today.

Terrific day out which started with the Corbett Ben Hee, crossing over two Grahams then onto this Corbett. Descended in the fading light, a classic day out.
