Last day of an 8 day stay in North Wales, a scorcher of a week. So before returning home I walked onto the rounded, hilly top of Moel Wnion via Cras (superb views in all directions) and then onwards to revisit Gyrn, Llefn, Moel Faban and returned below these peaks and onto the N Wales Path. Wnions stone pillar is still decapitated. Gifted to Hot Chocolates hit "It started with a kiss, (how did it end up like this)". Don't know the words in Spanish :-)).

Oh, dear! After a grind of a walk from Bethesda this is most certainly the saddest pillar I've so far seen. It's not concrete but made of stone blocks cemented together. The entire top section including the plug, tribracket and hooks has gone completely, as has most of the SW face, which includes the flush bracket, so I will need the help of those with access to the OS files for the FB number. The pillar is squarer than normal with about a 2 foot base. It's within a stone windbreak which my OS map says is a cairn but I don't think it is. Great views towards Anglesey.
