First trig of three in the area. Parked at end of Salisbury Terrace and followed the paths up to the trig, passing the memorial to Carlo the dog. Spectacular views of Sugar Loaf, Skirrid and Blorenge from the trig. Good condition and FB intact.

Second of the afternoon and a lot more interesting and enjoyable than expected. Parked in track near to PROW and followed the tracks to the top, passing by a memorial to "The Setter Carlo" on the way. Great views all around. Trig has Spider and Flush Bracket but no cap/plug. Chip off the top and some cracking in places but on the whole in a reasonable condition.

Marked as good as damage is minimal. Took the Ystrad Drain path but couldn't see through ferns so ended up going the way round to join the path that comes from Post Office, just as well of started here it was only up the road. Path leads to trig. Full of heater on top couldn't find Ystrad Drain path up top so followed map and then crashed my way through the ferns to get down. Sweaty slog but they can't all be easy can they :)

3/3 on circuit from Goytre wharf. Over heather moorland from south, then east with only a little thrashing through heather to reach pillar. Excellent horizon, the Blacks, Sugar loaf, Skirrid, the Monmouthshire hills and in the far distance the profile of the Malverns. Then good track downward ESE to cross valley floor and ascend eastern ridge on track used for 2014 Valleys 100, leading onto bridleway and lanes back to Goytre wharf (16.50).

Parked near Salisbury Terrace and wandered up various tracks until we were up in the low clouds. Damp and couldn't see more than a few yards in front of us. I had to use the OS App on my phone with the GPS arrow guiding us to the pillar. Cheating a bit but it worked great. No views for us today.

14.5 mile circular from Blaenavon along the old railway to Abersychan, and up pass just south of Byrgwm trig, we were surprised about the amount of rubbish dumped here to, shame its a nice road, across to Bygwm trig then along ridge passing Gwastad and across to Mynydd Varteg Fawr trig, onto Coety Mountain (Very featureless summit), down to Whistle Inn and back to Blaenavon, nice and sunny.

Parked in Cwmtillery and did this trig as a circular walk taking in Coity Mountain. Weather awful and so much water underfoot made the going difficult, plus access was over rough ground with no paths making this one a pig! Some damage to the trig, the spider is exposed at each of its 3 ends and there are some cracks in the pillar that look as though they've been repaired with a resin... maybe - see photo. Interesting plug, seemed to be made of plastic.

Very minor damage. Excellent views of the Beacons, blorenge and Skirrid. Views S to Severn Estuary. Nearby cairns and memorial. Pillar damage is limited to around the spider. Walked up from the road to the NE where there are several good parking spots.

Pillar in pretty good condition, just a few small bits missing off top around spider edges. Came up to visit the county tops abot a mile north of here so made a detour to the trig. Climbed up from near the Big Pit.

old brown plastic cap. Spider exposed, shallow cracks to pillar. Cast iron Meml just to SE, To Carlos, celebrated setter … accidentally shot … 1864. Nice hill & view, in a S Wales kind of way; big old cairns near meml Looks like I just missed Trigs-R-us.
