I parked at the crossroads of the farm tracks and field gates and walked up the track to the pillar. At first glance on the 1:25k map it looks like the pillar is on the track, but it's not - it's in the adjoining field next to the wall. There is no gate or stile near the trig - I would have hopped over, but the farmer in the next field was busy with a few dozen lambs, so I did the sensible thing and walked back down the track and through the earlier gate instead. The trig field was empty. The pillar is in fine condition with a full set of metalwork and has good views to Ingleborough and Pen y ghent. I didn't hang about and quickly retraced my steps.

Pillar a bit boxed into a corner by the field walls. Good views of Ingleborough and a uncharacteristic rounded profile of Penyghent.
