A great find! Parked at end of housing estate on Grassington Drive. Footpath into play area and followed wire fencing round to find a little wooden bridge. Trig laid nicely on blocks by gate.

Parked on Armstrong Road on the new housing estate. As building remains ongoing on that estate, the public right of way (PROW) that starts at SP 37760 91124 is closed. Hence, took the PROW from Crowhill Road instead and walked up to the pillar from there. The pillar now lies toppled next to a gate. Great find! Delighted that rather than destroy the pillar, the original land owner has simply moved it to adjacent a PROW for the benefit of all.

A recently planted geocache alerted me to the presence of this trigpoint, now lying recumbent next to a kissing gate/footbridge. "The Cyclist"'s log gives good instructions on how to get here; a previous footpath I used to frequent has been obliterated by the new housing development.

The flush bracket Difficult to get as the flush bracket is on the underneath of the recumbent pillar - and I wasn't going to lie in the mud!

Informed of recent find of the moved pillar by "What's the Point" on Saturday. Provided an objective for today's cycle ride. Would have looked at the original site in my first years of trigging as marked on 1: 50,000 OS map. Approached off housing estate to South. In retrospect best way is off A4254 at roundabout, then left to Holly Walk and left again to Bramble Close. At the end a tarred footpath between the houses leads to a grassed children's play area. Cross this diagonally right and ROW through hedge, and pass alongside metal security barriers. Cross an obvious large footbridge directly ahead and the pillar is immediately on the left. Moderately wet and muddy; I've walked to worse in cycling shoes, but came equipped with and changed into boots. Now visited 2774 pillars .

Flush bracket located by feel on a muddy day, well done to Pritch227 for confirming the number and to Colin for finding the pillar. Footpath has been diverted due to construction works, currently from south, very easy, albeit wet and muddy today

My GPS indicated that this trig should have been at what is now a wire fence between two fields but there is no sign of it in reality. My guess is that it was removed when the hedge between the fields was removed and replaced with the wire fence. I wonder what happened to it. Is it under the very large mound of earth nearby? Surely this is a man-made pile.
