I didn't find this one very easy to find, following the electric pole line, up the hill, next thing I'm crawling through and under whin bushes. At this point, some people may have thought I'd lost my marbles. Eventually found. Trig in vgc. Surrounded by whin bushes and no views. Found a much easier sheep path down. A tick off, unfortunately we unlikely to visit again, and eventually this Trig will be lost to the bushes.

Decided not to take the route as previously described as there are now rocks on the verge near the farm house to prevent parking. Parked in the layby off the A9 just North of the pillar. Van driver watched us climb a 7 foot deer fence and into a clearing in the woods. Multiple small paths to the pillar and the firebreak is becoming overrun with gorse now meaning we had to go around, to the North. Evidence of cows and we could hear deer rustling and running in the distance. Path to the pillar throught he gorse still exists but is becoming narrow - this will be a difficult bag if it disappears! Centre cap still in place.

I parked at NH 62771 49451 just off the A9 by the start of the track in to Artafallie Farm. Walked along to the bungalow where I encountered the owner and his mate. We had a chat in the style of which today's young people call 'bantz' or 'proper bantz'. Through the gate and followed the track to where the power line branches off left. I followed this then another left and I found the track through the whins that leads to the trig. In good condition with all fixings present. Back same way but the lads were gone. Sad to think us three buckaroos will never converse again!

Parked at NH 626 494 and followed track NW then SW. Track SW was very narrow path through very thick gorse bushes with signs of cattle having used it recently. I got worried about meeting a cow trying to go the other way - it would not have been able to turn round and I would not have been able to get out of its way. Fortunately no sign of any cows and then an easy find of the trigpoint.

4th trig point of the day. Parked by Beauly Firth opposite entrance to Coulmore. Walked up tarmaced road passed house and farm. Walked on through a track through the lovely oak woods, across minor road and into field below the trigpoint. It appeared very well guarded by gorse bushes but there was a track through the birch wood to the west of the trig and I followed this to the North side of the trig and found the path.

Log #40. Although not marked on the Landranger, there is a path at 62554940 that runs by the house on the corner. Continue NNW on this path, turning left at the junction. This second track is lined on both sides by gorse. Don't leave this path! Follow it until you reach a clearing, then aim for the nearest telegraph pole to find the path through the gorse to the trig. Death by a thousand cuts - I strongly suggest a thick jacket. I managed to decimate an entire colony of spiderwebs getting to the trig, and there are also some thorns hidden between the gorse. The trig is in excellent condition, and the views definitely make up for the painful entry (the worst, I think, since I went to Lethen Bar (S7417)). Despite the low-lying fog, it was definitely worth the visit. [ExP-40/MiP-0/BM-0]
