Parked in the housing estate to south of Reigate Park. Easy short walk to this pillar. Popular with joggers and dog walkers. Nestled next to a copse this pillar has a spider plug tar infill and flush bracket faces due east.

Fairly easy to access and find. Tricky part was the one way system around Reigate. Parked on residential road to east of pillar opposite church. Footpath cuts through to park. Head west and uphill. Where woods open out onto level ground is a stone bench monument, 30 metres beyond is the pillar. No views apart from along the ridge to the west. Resting nearby after logging a couple of walkers approached the pillar and took some interest in it. Wondered if they might have been fellow triggers, seems unlikely as they soon moved on. Even so unusual for any one to pay them any attention at all.

Drove to Park Lane (RH2 8QR) - narrow and winding, with passing places. Parked in a rough layby at the junction with Littleton Lane. View across the valley to the windmill where TP5633 is located. Footpath opposite the layby with a short flight of steps up. At the top, ignore the main path and continue on the narrow path up the hill (steep but short). This takes you to a wide track running East-West. Turn right and walk about three quarters of a mile to the monument. The trig is to the left of the track, a few yards back from the monument, at the edge of the wood, a bit buried in the undergrowth (see my picture). A nice woodland walk with some views along the way, although none at the trig when the trees are in full leaf. (Note: having looked around a bit more I see that there’s a closer entrance near the junction of Park Lane East and Priory Drive, where you can park on the street, and another on the East side of the park, near a public car park.)

Short walk up from kerbside parking. Bagged the hill first - Park Hill, my final tump in Surrey. Pillar 60m further W. Asphalt top plug; BSM-style FB; all sight holes open. Wide ridge-top ride, trees either side prevent any views.

Greensand Way #7 - onwards from Reigate Heath trig with obligatory stop at the Skimm - drinking den of the Old Man's youth; much changed in the intervening 40 years but a well kept cellar. Nice walk in the sunshine through the Park with blackberries and RBW seeds blowing round in the air. No views, asphalt cap, all s/holes open but significant remnants of white paint and otherwise vgc.

I parked on the roadside to the south-east and used the footpaths up through the trees to reach the pilar. The top of the his is just a grassed area so that the pillar is easy to see and reach. In good condition but the original metal plug has been replacd by a tarmac type one. Views are somewhat restricted by the surrounding woodland,

I’ve been ‘house-sitting’ for some friends on Hawks Hill, just outside Leatherhead, for the past few days so I was delighted when this one popped up as a YOSM location today. As it’s ‘just down the road’ so to speak, it would have been churlish not to pay it a visit, after all, the house could look after its self for an hour or so. I parked in a cul-de-sac just to the south-east and made the short, uphill walk to the pillar. Apart from the missing centre plug, which has been filled with ‘tar-mac’, the pillar is in good condition although a bit of a scrub down and a fresh coat of white paint wouldn’t go amiss. For all its height, the views are mostly blocked by trees. The view west being the only aspect open.

A lovely white-painted pillar in a public-access area above Reigate. Missing plug. FB has a 'Raised S'. S sighthole open, others closed. Nice parkland views but nothing distant.

Painted bright white, showing slight damage (persumably frost) to the facing concrete. The plug is also replaced by some cracked concrete. The S of the flush bracket is between the BM letters. Its the first ive seen like this, i've believe this is recorded by Trigonomy as S/3328

Located in a clearing in wooded high ground, not far from the centre of Reigate. Nearby is a monument commemorating the gift of the surrounding land to Reigate Corporation in 1920.
