Field gate off road then followed hedge line. Pillar in hedge, fenced either side. Had a walk around the village church (church of the Holy Cross) after visiting pillar.

Stopped to do some benchmarking at the same time but asked farmer if it was okay to visit trig said it was fine. Walked up from field entrance at the end of the village to the top. Trig sits in thorn hedge on right behind farm. Spider, Flush Bracket and cap in place.

Followed field boundary NW up from A40 after parking in field entrance on SE side road. Pillar sits on a field boundary in sparse hedgerow with sheep pastures either side. It's being consumed by thorn on one side, free on the other, and has 2 strands of b/w wrapped around it, otherwise vgc. Original cap is retained with raised lettering; RHD side sight hole open. Didn't note views, but good to W.

Easily found in hedge - has barbed wire around it though so hope this doesn't eventually decay it. After speaking to Dusty, his visit encountered a grumpy farmer. Thank goodness we didn't as the devil dog was barking his head off all the way up the field - this is him saying I love a run around and we would most definitely have gotten a telling off!!

Strange name for a village. Known as Villa Roberti in the 13th Century. Robert was probably a sub-tenant of the Norman Lord of Narbeth. Wathen is probably another family name.

Easiest access is to take the minor lane north from Robeston Wathen passing the church and continue to a point 70 metres past the last house. Cross the gate on the left keeping the hedge on your left to reach another gate. Turn left up the next field keeping hedge on your left. There is a gate at the top of this field. Trig point lies between two barb wire fences and partly in hedge to the right. FB faces SW.
