Thought I'd visit some seldom logged pillars to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the T:UK website today. Parked in the long passing place N of Dirniemow Bridge, but a better spot would have been on the verge next to the equipment cabinet at the railway underbridge. Through the underbridge and followed the track to the gate NE of the trig where a boggy track heads off which cuts through the tussocks and leads circuitously to the pillar.

Wide roadside verge for parking, near railway tunnel (NX 1695 7081). Good, driveable, farm track took me most of the way to Stab Hill, then a direct line over very rough ground to the trig. Rejoined outward track at NX 1623 7106 on the return. Pillar has some horizontal fracturing, upper crack quite substantial; built without a FB; 1 sight hole open, 2 of the plugs beginning to degrade. Extensive moorland views.

Trod curves round hill from NX 162710 and can be seen from track, leading to trig. Must cross narrow tussocky boggy band, barbed wire fence and thru' gap in wall - well worth it!
