Parked in field gateway. Cottage that shares this entrance had door boarded up so felt safe to block it for 5 mins. Ran up and down from trig. Broken water trough has meant this ground at the gateway is soaked even after a period of dry weather. Easy trig to bag!

parked by farm, a short walk across boggy field, which gets progresively drier with altitude. Foundations slightly exposed, small cracks on pillar with the top delaminating. Asphalt cap.

A very muddy (and smelly) but short walk from the farm at Hillhead. Very glad we had wellies on and even that was only just good enough!! Views good in most directions especially towards Blacksidend.

Good wee walk from Catrine village past the war memorial. Decent views all round, pretty similar to near by Dykes Farm trig. Not sure when this was last used for golf though :-)

Slightly damaged pillar in pasture. Friendly cows in the field, but easily avoided. FB faces north-ish with west-ish and south-ish sightholes open. Cap is missing with asphalt plug. Minor cracking to the top screed and a few cracks on the pillar itself. Nothing major or extensive. Not bad views, but not earth-shaking. Accessed from north. There's a cut benchmark on the farm building.

HISTORY: Pillar completed 29th September 1947 costing £11.3s.6d. Computed as tertiary station NS44/T27 in 1950. Levelled for height in 1961. Last maintained by the OS in September 1976. SITE VISIT: Pillar in fair condition. Spider centre plugged with tar. Flush bracket faces northwards, ~352°. Vented through south and west sight holes. Views include Brown Carrick and prominent tops at bearings of 63°, 96°, 144°, 185°.

Deep diagonal crack near base. Asphalt plug. Pasture, on knoll overlooking bungalow. Despite name, no golf course nowadays.

Spider plugged. Crack round top cm, other cracks lower down. Had to navigate a mud swamp to get here from the road.
