The aim of a cycle ride out from Coalport YHA. Took note of directions from earlier visitors. Cleared area of vegetation with the aid of some plastic rubbish and prodded with metal tyre lever but failed to find it.

7.9m from road junction sign. 3m from white line at edge of road/lay by. 0.5m into verge. 5cm deep. The cars are still for sale.

Easy find from stignest description. Lifted off lump of concrete and scraped off the dusty soil.

On our way to North Wales so time to pick up some pillars. Stopped in layby to get this one. Stignest description spot on for us as we struggled. Uncovered the bernsten and replaced a small concrete piece. Limited views.

Took a bit of finding this one measured from sign then prodded found by ER 3 ft from lay by edge had to dig out re covered.

little blighter.. 3rd attempt! this time with pokey and forky trowel. it is on the tilt towards the hedge. if you go from the nearest roadsign towards the layby. pick out the 2nd catseye and line that up in a straightline with the join in the kerb on the far side of the road the bertsen is on that axis.

A little tricksie as OS measurement from road junc sign is no longer correct - perhaps the sign's been re-fixed? Anyway it's precisely 7.85m from sign post to centre of Bentsen. peregrinus' 3ft measurements found it for me - tks Rob. Looks like this has been run over a few times as the whole thing is now on the tilt. Left it uncovered.

Paced it from the road sign. Prodded the rock hard earth through the lush undergrowth - no joy. Another one that is best in winter

S verge at E end of layby, 3 ft E of lump of concrete, 3 ft into grass. Partially covered by piece of wood. OS measurement 7.46m W of road sign still works.

was v lucky with this one, gps telling me 6 ft, brushed my for across grass in one place and uncovered it!! seriously lucky, it's uncovered for the moment, really near to the end of layby near to the junction end, about a foot in.

Very lucky, parked right next to it. Slightly overgrown but found quite easily with OS sketch and information from previous logs. About a metre from a lump of concrete on the road/lay-bye edge, diagonally to the left and towards the hedge.

Located easily with OS sketch - looks like a large vehilce has driven over it recently - cap at odd angle now.

Again, an easy find after last year's failure, thanks to the two visitors who went a couple of weeks ago. Again, cleared away all overgrowth to the interest of a couple of van drivers in the adjacent layby.

Found this with a metal detector and trowel. Found a couple of old cans and a large rock before finding it. Under a couple of inches of soil and grass (see pic). It's now visible so other should spot it easily.

Two blue nasties in 10 minutes! This was the real head-scratcher. In spite of standing right over it and using the photo and sketch, I STILL couldn't find the blessed thing! When I get chance in winter to find the surface block again, I must come here too! Very disappointing.
