I did this the hard way. From the PROW I hopped over the fence and walked south along the hedge to the trig. I should have read previous comments. The farmers gate was open so I closed it and took a few pics. Nice view to Simonside to the west but misty towards Longframlington to the east. Not a very exciting trig to visit. PS I did reopen the gate

2nd trig today of 4. Permission granted to visit the trig from a farmer who was helping the owner at Healey and hadn't visited the area in 40 years. I was also allowed to avoid the numerous cattle nearby. PROW to start then in a farmers field.

A bad start from Throat Wood to the east when the stile collapsed (It was rotten, honest). Had my first view of what I think were the Simonside Hills but what sticks in my mind was the surrounding fields were full of uncollected mouldy big hay bales. Not sure what that was about.

My second visit, different route, from the E along the PROW starting at Throat Wood. The field with the TP in it was full of cows, and one very big, very well endowed bull! The cows were very curious, but the bull maintained a stately indifference to us. The farmer has installed a new water tank very close to the TP since my last visit, but without disturbing the TP in any way. It's not a spectacular TP by any means, but the attention of the cows this evening made this a memorable trip! We completed a circular walk by following the PROW E then N up to Hope Farm and then back SE to the car. The views from Hope Farm, being somewhat higher than the TP, are really rather good.

Quite intrigued by this TP as the ratings scores for it from the reviews below range from 10/10 to just 2/10 Can any other TP boast such differing ratings?! Parked at Cragend and followed footpath through farm where very helpful landowner advised on route. Followed hedge to footbridge over burn, then kept left through wood to meet wall and followed that up through the wood to a broken stile and then kept on over another stile and through a gate following ROW towards Longframlington. The TP is easily spotted in a field to the right of the ROW which requires a jump over a barbed wire fence to reach. Good views west to Simonside.
