Pillar history: Built on the 26th of November 1946, cost, and when last maintained by the OS not present in the archive. Marked as destroyed by the OS May 1965. FB was S3816.

Visited 'dead' trig site for completion, but in truth didn't get within any meaningful distance. Parked in the lane and had a good look across, but all the drive and field access gates were firmly locked and secured and it seemed pointless for a dead pillar to go jumping over such things.

Parked at the Woodcock Inn. Walked back down Whitehall Rd with views of Leeds city centre lights. Turned down Wolley Ave then returned via Low Moor Side Lane. Viewed barns as shown on these pictures. There is a triangular cut tree near the barn, a kind of trig if you like but i did not see anything and conclude as others that this trig has gone. More info would be good, short of daring to ask at the farm.

Log #82. (141m). First visit 12/06/10. Couldnt figure exact site then. Returned today with full set of data to photo exact site. The site is on a plateau with buildings all around, so no photos of views or landmarks. I calculate that the trig would have been in the doorway of the barn, so it has most likely been destroyed.

Upper Moor Side The grid ref and satellite positioning show the pillar to have been situated beneath the gable end wall (green doors), directly below the roof ridge of the building (ctr of photo).
