Parked in Cadeira Beeches car park and followed the tracks to the mast. A little further along there is an opening to the left which leads straight to the trigpoint. Trigpoint painted white with a red dragon. Good views of the Bristol Channel and second Severn Bridge.

Arrived late but found easily enough. Park at top of hill with mast in view to the SW. Follow track on left towards mast but pass the mast to the left and about 200m further on there is a track leading South. Take this and the trig can be found on your right. Easy to spot as it has had a good white wash with Red dragon adorned.

Second of the day after a loop from the Cadeira Beeches car park over to the Tredunnock Trig and back. Sat in a clearing off the main path over the ridge. Good condition. Freshly painted white with a red dragon, just some muddy boot prints on it! FB and spider intact.

Parked at Little Oak car park south of summit then walked up a good trail that we thought ran parallel to the road but didn't, instead it disappeared into thick almost jungle-like undergrowth that we barely made it through to find a trail to the summit and trig. No views from the trig. Afterwards for obvious reasons we came down the road back to the car. 5th and last hill of the day. Earlier we bagged Mynydd Y Glyn, Cefn Eglwysilan and Garth Hill trigs as well as and Penhow FBM.

Parked at car park to the NE of the trig, then walked along the track (heading SW), past the comms mast, then another track on the left (heading S) to the trig. Trig was in good condition, painted white with Welsh red dragon and other paintings, BSM-style FB, centrecap missing, a few memorabilia items were left on top of the trig, including a thimble, Liverpool F.C. pin badge, an old coin, a ring, perhaps an old whistle? Front, right and left sightholes closed, rear sighthole open. I left a 2p coin in the rear sighthole for the next visitor to find.

Visit during Sir Fynnwi virtual 100 out of Chepstow. Bright white paint job with red dragon and murals but so much scrub woodland that views poor. Views much better from nearby Gray Hill.

Full ascent from sea level after having come up from the Wales Coast Path near Undy. Did my best to remove a few of the branches piled up against the pillar. Happened to be my 750th pillar log though I didn't add it up until after I'd just come off Golden Hill.

A grovelling long steep climb from an al fresco lunch stop at Llantrisant in the Usk valley. Most of the surrounding trees have been felled once again opening up views across Severn estuary, though grey and blue today. A large pile of brash prevented reaching the FB.

In pleasant woodland, track on approach churned up as work was ongoing on the telecom mast. It looks like a temporary mast is being installed whilst the main mast is upgraded. Pillar is complete with Grenade and dog grafitti common in this area.

The pillar stands close to a path on a wooded hill to the northeast of Newport. The trig lacks a cap or plug and has FB S/3324. The site was visited during a pleasant walk through the woods from Cadira Beeches in the east. It is possible to park much closer to the pillar if you wish. The surrounding woodland prevents any view from the trig. A couple of times during my walk the trees thinned out a little to allow a restricted view down to the Severn Estuary and across to Portishead and some hills beyond.

Tried appraoching it from the south which is not recommended as the track ran through a thicket. Best way is to leave minor road at ST414945 and walk SW on good track. Take second track left after passing mobile phone mast and its just a few yards. Unfortunately I visited on a extremely dull day.

The forest around here seems to provide entertainment for everyone – mountain bikers, walkers, 4x4 ecology destructors, car thieves, and even trig pointers. There must have been a view from here when the trig was built but not now! Plus removed but interestingly the nuts are still in place!

A quick visit after an orienteering event on the Caerwent Training Area. On my first visit there was an umbrella sticking out of the hole where the plug should have been. As with most South Wales marilyns, the visit was enlivened by the presense of burnt out cars.
