Used public transport today; bus & train to Barnham, and then easy walking on the Sussex flatlands. Such a contrast to my recent Scottish adventures. En route to pillar I visited St Mary's Barnham, unusually (& sensibly) for a mediaeval church, used by both Anglicans & Catholics. It has a lovely warm interior with the walls coloured a comforting pink, and there is an endearing C15 wooden sculpture of St Genevieve. Also an amazing piece of Agincourt graffiti from 1415. Then across towards Hoe Farm to find this pillar hidden within some huge stinging nettles which I bravely trampled down to discover just one sight hole open, and an asphalt cap. Nearby, the road building progresses, but the pillar seems to be safely positioned.

Cleared some vegitation, but not practicable to clear rubble piled up behind it. No cap, asphalt plug; 2 sight holes closed, other 2 inaccessible. No views.
