Gate open. Owner in garden. Very willing to direct us to trig. As you go op the drive, fork left but don’t go into the drive of the left hand house, follow the track between the two. The trig is hidden behind a holly bush and oil tank about level with the second house. Buried to flush bracket level. Cut mark on gateway by road

No views at all from this trigs location. It is on private land and only accessible via a large locked driveway gate. You press one of the buttons to speak to the owner. I pressed the top one. Others have said they are very accommodating, but it seems nobody was in when I visited. Nevertheless, it auto dialled a phone number. It answered but with no voice and then the gate opened. So I went in. Near the house a young chap was cleaning his car and asked me a) how I got in and b) what did I want. I told him and then said that I just want to inspect the ONS trig pillar. He had no clue what I was on about. I then pointed to exactly where it should be behind a tree. I came over to look with me and there it was next to a septic tank. The pillar is buried up to the FB. Bits and bobs around and on top of it.
