Damaged pillar atop excellent viewpoint. FB faces north-west-ish with north-east-ish sighthole open only. Top screed in bad shape with the spider well exposed. Spider still well fixed though. Cap missing and no plug. Large crack right through the pillar about 1' off the ground with a chunk missing from one edge. Not in great shape, but seems stable. Amazing 360 degree views from the top of this one on this very crisp and clear day. Criffel, Lake District to the south, Green Lowther to the east and as far north as Ben Lomond and Ben More. Fantastic! Came up from Afton reservoir parking via the mapped tracks. Avoided the firebreak shortcut and stuck to the roads. 15 mile round trip....

Windy Standard is now crowned by a large wind farm. Views today excellent. Trig point has taken a few knocks and is cracked all the way round about a quarter of the way up.
