A narrow prickly path leads to the top of the barrow from the footpath that runs parallel to both the road and the firing range boundary. There is convenient parking in the designated lay-by for observing the armoured vehicle training track 250 metres to the west. The pillar is in fine condition; it has FB S6075 but lacks a cap or plug. The trig looks over the lowland of Turners Puddle Heath to a wooded ridge on the horizon in the north.
