Easy to find FBM well appreciated this afternoon. Cruach Tairbeirt climbed between trains whilst slowly making my way up to Oban and then the ferry to Barra.

trig can be seen from the pavement,the mud was not to bad.managed to keep dry feet. tried for 20 minutes to get a gps reading. gave up, and moved on

From the Tarbet end towards Arrochar. Beyond the railway bridge follow the road to the 'Fish & Chips' sign on the left of the road. From this point the FBM is on the other side of the road (the footpath side) a further (approx) 10 yards at the old (now open) gateway. It's behind the left hand gate post, the approach to which (Feb 2013) is a sea of mush.

Parked on pavement on north side of road about 100m WSW of railway bridge. Walked about 75m back down pavement and carefully round the mud through an open gateway on the north side of the road to find the FBM just to the left. Difficult to get GPS signal in the trees so I cannot offer a position. FBM is covered in moss and has no height tag, just a bolt with ‘OSBM’ on it.

Easy enough to find in a small enclosure off the north side of the road. See previous photos for a clue. Completely covered in moss except for the OS plate and the OSBM dome on top. Oh, and 200th trig!

Dunbartonshire. This is a different design to the usual FBM and there is no place for a height tag.

My first sober New Year since a kid :-) Went to Beinn an Lochain to enjoy the ice this cold burst has given us. Routes very thin but the turf was absolutely bomber. FBM handily passed on the way to parking at Rest & Be Thankful.

Just climbed the Cobbler so ticked of this FB on our way home. Very busy road so parked at the station and walked back. Easy to find just look for entrance into the old quarry. There is a yellow fire hydrant cover on the pavement at the opening.
