I measured, prodded and trod down growth but could not find it. There have been a few trees cut down but don’t think that has made a difference. At least I tried.

FBM located buried to its top in rough roadside verge. GPS plate and bolt on top surface, no sign of the Benchmark plate. Measured it at 2.6m from roadside, and 1m SW of the maturing rowan tree. Left it uncovered.

Not easy to spot in the long grass. Found metal cover and paced 3m to right of rowan tree and my trainer slipped on something, it was the OS plaque!

Granite block with 2" bolt which has a surveyor's arrow and OS plaque. Was buried 5cm deep - left open after a spruce up.

OS sketch seems to have gone. Used photos. 3m from metal cover, 3m from end of white line, 2m from rowan tree, under turf. Dusk by the time I found it. 2019 update, having seen a few like this recently - this is the lower marker - the mini pillar has gone

No height tag but a whopping arrow on the *bolt-head* ..buried enough for lazy OS to drill the 1999 plaque on its top rather than dig it out and pop on the side as usual ...at a bit of an odd angle too - no spirit level but an obliging red berry rolled South to North proving the top is pretty tilted.

Buried FBM. Went straight to it via the sketch and tape. Although the measurement from the nearby fence post appears 20cm too far....I digress. Parking right beside it. Currently uncovered in terms of excavated mud, but slightly grassed over. Nice big bolt with broad arrow on it. Not the usual FBM top.

Unusually this was more difficult to find than the nearby Auxiliary. Very close to Iainmac's stones which are exposed. Covered up again afterwards.

At last. OS sketch (thanks to GRP) and tape measure eventually uncovered this one. And yet I still nearly gave up searching. N.B. I re-covered it roughly so OS sketch or these photos still likely to be needed.

used OS sketch and yet I'm still not sure if I've found it or not. 2 stones found exactly where sketch predicted (no tape measure tho) but neither has plaque on it nor resembles any other fbm I have visited. It seems I am destined to visit this yet again with tape measure and shovel/trowel.
