The second block mentioned in other logs appears to be missing. There is just some loose soil where it would have been. (I poked with a stick and there is nothing buried). I'd like to imaging that the OS have taken it away for polishing but I fear the worst!

(2869) Parked up on the road, it was fairly early still, and found the FBM straight away thankfully. Both still largely uncovered. An unusual one this as others had mentioned. Two blocks. In overall good condition though bolt and GPS plate are missing.

Buried under cut grass and debris. Luckily I was with a friend that knew the position of this FBM otherwise may have been difficult to locate.

With jonglew and coinea. Log as per Mr Glew - A good part of the bolt has gone, as has the GPS plate, but otherwise both blocks sound. Presume the below ground portion will be similar to other FBMs. With SK and AG... having paced out the measurements (see peregrinus' log below) and not found it, they discovered it whilst I was getting out the measuring tape!

Odd pair of FBMs. The granite block's bolt is mostly gone, the concrete one with the OS plate is in good condition. Easy enough find despite it being twilight!

Straightforward once I found the correct roadsign- the one at the bottom of the hill. Fortunately the verge had been cut do paced out 17m and found nothing. Scraping the dried grass soon uncovered the pair. A unique item? Bit more damage to the higher ones edges. Great find.

Not easy to find with the amount of vegetation. Using previous photographs, started tramping up and down the verge using the technique of scraping with the side of the foot. 15mins later they were both found. The verge seems to have been raised making the FBM's flush with the ground.

Found it straight away AJ with my GPS and the vegetation was worse. A new and old FBM together by the look of things but tricky to photograph well with the vegetation.

Despite Peregrinus's precise instructions, couldn't find it. Must get my 1m stride recalibrated... Or was it the three foot grass and (possibly) giant hogweed that put me off ?! Had a few tentative probes. No adjacent hedge trimming has been done this year.

searched at the wrong steep hill sign initially. Very helpful directions from Pererinus. One extra bit of advice would've been from the 'northern' steep hill sign, 14 m north and then 4m west of centre of the road. Someone had even tried digging a fruitless hole 14 north and 4 west of the southerly of the steep hill signs!!. Amusing

(3a)visited quite late while en route to park up prior to starting the "lyke wake walk" difficult to locate at first due to grass having been recently cut and dead grass covering most of the area,aided by measurements from previous visitors i eventually located it,os plaque showing some signs of damage possibly from equipment used to maintain the grass,

Easy find with the help of the most recent pictures. Walked straight to it. The grass has grown quite a lot in the last 3 weeks. First log using the Iphones GPS which unsuprisingly is not as accurate as my Garmin.

3rd time lucky. 14m N of Steep Hill sign, 4m W of road centreline. Clearly visible this time. The <Ordnance Survey BM> plaque is on a separate block beside the main one - dont think Ive ever seen another like it.

Found the fbm on the west side of the road between the road sign and the tree. Verge recently cut back so clearly visable on the banking. Good views from this escarpment.

Nearly gave up looking for this FBM after searching for 15 minutes, but luckily trod on it at the last moment. It is raised only about 2 inches out of the ground so is difficult to spot in the grassy verge even at this time of year. Also had to contend with dozens of roaming hens. FBM is on a nice country lane but the location is spoilt by the noise from the nearby A19.
