Very easy FBM to find opposite farm on lawn. Earlier that day we bagged Carnmenellis trig pillar and afterwards we went to Carn Brea monument and St. Agnes Beacon.

Chatted with house owner opposite, who keeps the grass cut and knows all about it having herself chatted with an OS guy affixing the GPS plate to it. Height tag in place - 658.04ft.

Straightforward. While I was there the lady who lives at the farm opposite came out - she knows all about the FBM. She kindly took me to the corner of the field where the Copper Hill tiangulation station should be located (SW6622236979). I thought it might be a platform bolt, but we certainly could not see a platform. It is listed as a Block, and I suspect it may just set into the top of the thick walls. There have been changes - a gate has been infilled.

Conveniently located on a grass verge, the FBM is easily accessible. The height marker is still in place and reads 658.04 ft.

My first visit to a fundamental benchmark. Appears to be made from a good lump of solid Cornich Granite. Told my son he needed some driving practice before his driving test and I navigated him here!

This is a fundemaental mak (a small cube of stone) with a paque thereon. It is not simple to find due to its size. The GPS co-ordinates are good, but when you get near, look for a farmhouse with a lawned, car pull-in opposite it. The mark is in this pull-in, on the road side, mid-way along. On a wet day, you could even stay in the car!!. Views are pretty abysmal, but I suppose that is not what this one is all about.
