AEH39 said that there was a bolt on the summit tor slabs. Been up several times before and never noted one. This time I was determined to find it. Easily found but hard to access. However it didn't seem too hard for two 5 and 7 year olds. What a fantastic day, sunny, calm and cool! It wasn't until I looked at the photo that I noticed the three diverging scours.

walked up to Bwlch Tryfan from Idwal Cottage, diverted to the top of Tryfan, then back down to the Bwlch and up the scree path beside Bristly Ridge to the top of Glyder Fach. Bolt is on a slab which is probably the highest solid point of the mountain, in the pile of huge boulders forming the summit heap (nearer the east end of the heap). It has 3 studs around it as previously described. View fantastic, unimpeded by cloud despite the wetness of the day. Descended via Glyder Fawr and the staircase path by the Devils Kitchen

This trig point is shown on the previous edition of the 1:25,000 Explorer series and listed on the OS traditional control database as a third order trig point marked by a bolt at SH6564658286 (SH57 TD21). The location does require scrambling over large boulders to reach and is marked by a brass ferrule (drop in anchor) approx. 20mm diameter with a central threaded hole whose upper surface is flush with the rock surface. At about 50cm radius from the ferrule at 120˚ intervals are 3 brass studs on the rock surface. Found in strong gusting winds and very poor visibility after great scramble up the Bristly Ridge.
