Recent digging nearby has left this one with soil piled up (almost half buried) - I got lucky with this one and found it almost straight away (using supplied GR - no security in evidence on site

Cycled over on very quiet roads. Very spooky location with all the current Covid19 business. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.

Pillar in good condition. Located next to the abandoned Zeneca buildings. Was able to park in the Aspinal car park and then it was a 20 m walk.

Easy cycle to this Trig. It is an abandoned carpark. And isnt an OS trig as it doesnt have a FB and its design is a little different. It might be a work of art as it does seem to be surrounded by other works!? Or they might just be dumped rubbish. Last Trig of the day. Now to get back to the car and its A/c!

Parked by access road SU 8950 2676 from where its a simple walk on tarmac to the old buildings and (becoming) overgrown trig

The former Zeneca research buildings are boarded up and look very neglected, as is the former lawn around the trig. Trig just north of the road around the outside of the offices. No cap - centre open. Note I used jonglew's grid ref to find it - it is far more accurate than the approx grid ref currently given. Not sure about the chronology of the site. The pillar has 1960 on it, and I found reference to suggest the offices date from the early 80s. The site was vacated in December 2001, following merger with a Swiss firm. There is security on site (vans in car park), and the trig is just beyond a gate.

Parked at Aspinal's Fernhust complex, which fronts the old Zeneca research buildings now in disuse. The GR given is approx 50m too far N so initially thought it was completely encased in bramble, or worse, had gone (my GR is the actual locat). However, scouted about and spotted it in front of the old building (should have read previous logs!). As previously reported, built with no FB and '1960' etched into the concrete near top of one side; also there are no sight holes. Spider good, but no cap. Central tube brimming with frozen water. Long term future of this non-OSGB36 pillar uncertain given the abandoned buildings. Bag it while it's there!

Easy find if you keep driving down main carparks

This was a surprise - didn't know it was here. Happened to spot it on the android app while in the area. Front building now occupied by Aspinal. On a Sunday the barrier was down and the car park occupied. I walked along the overgrown track along the W side then in the side gate, walked downhill, ENE; the pillar is L (N) side of main access road, overlooked by the big (empty) building. Built without FB. Concrete inscribed with "1960". No top cap - appears to have been infilled with concrete although was covered with ice.

Interesting location......no flush on pillar....just 1960 inscribed on side. Access quite simple just follow one way system and pillar on left after first right hand turn opposite main entrance.
